The year 2004 brought about another important milestone for CMP:  a move towards HACCP Advantage recognition which was a considerable undertaking.  At this time, the plant underwent another addition of 9000 sq.ft.   This was added so that the product flow within the plant was to avoid cross-contamination between raw and cooked materials.  By 2005, CMP received its HACCP certification, and a new era in the company dawned.

            However, by 2008, management decided to move forward into the “federal” world under Canadian Federal Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulation.  Doing so required further renovations and construction which began in the spring of that year.  This project was completed in the Spring of 2009, resulting in a state of the art 28 000 sq.ft. facility making use of stainless steel machinery.  As a result, CMP is now able to supply retailers across Canada.

           Our product line is extensive and sure to tantalize any palate.  With natural smoke and using only the finest ingredients, we pride ourselves in a quality product to suit your every need in the retail and food service trade.
           Although there have been many changes in the industry and to our facilities over the last 33 years, our commitment has remained the same, namely being “Committed to quality since 1976”.

Country Meat Packing Ltd. (CMP) is one of only five plants in Ontario to achieve HACCP-Advantage Certification - a recent program offered by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) for non-federally registered small-to-medium sized food processors.

HACCP signifies high standards in food safety, including temperature control, sanitation, documentation, as well as employee training in food safety awareness. CMP is also a licensed OMAF plant.

Going from a 1,200 sq. ft. plant in 1976 and slowly adding on to our now 24,000 sq. ft. food plant was the key factor in getting HACCP ready. The reason for the latest 9,000 sq. ft. addition was to create a product flow so that fresh meat comes in and flows through the plant with no chance of cross-contamination. Everything is then packaged in a separate room and prepared for shipping.

CMP processes Canadian and European style deli products and sells them wholesale to a customer base which spreads across all of Ontario Canada.
